About Us:

Wild Youth is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to inspiring and empowering young people to stand up for nature and help protect it for the future.

We believe the future of wildlife depends on the next generation feeling confident, capable and connected to the natural world. Through hands-on experiences, shared adventure and meaningful conservation work, Wild Youth creates opportunities for young people aged

13–25 to learn new skills, build friendships and discover their place in protecting the environment.

Wild Youth is proudly brought to you by the creators of the nationally recognised Keeping it Wild youth programme from Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, building on more than a decade of experience engaging young people in nature and conservation.

Led by Jamie and Laura, who together bring over 30 years of experience in the environmental sector, Wild Youth is built on a deep understanding of how powerful youth engagement can be. We create supportive spaces where young people can laugh, learn, grow in confidence and feel part of a community of like-minded people who care about the natural world.

At the heart of Wild Youth is a commitment to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. Our sessions are free from judgement, stigma or expectation. We celebrate individuality and recognise that many young people experience the world differently — including those who are neurodivergent or “neuro-spicy.” Wild Youth is designed to be a place where people can feel comfortable being themselves while enjoying nature and connecting with others.

Our activities combine practical conservation, environmental learning and real-world experience. Young people taking part in Wild Youth may find themselves:

Helping with habitat management and restoration

Learning wildlife surveying and species identification

Developing practical countryside skills

Supporting local conservation projects

Working alongside communities and environmental organisations

By working in partnership with conservation groups and local communities, Wild Youth provides a ready-made, enthusiastic team of young people who want to get involved and make a difference.

Most importantly, Wild Youth is about belonging, creating a place where young people feel safe, valued and inspired to stand tall for nature.

Because protecting wildlife today means empowering the conservationists of tomorrow
